In Georgia - According to the 2012 LGB Discrimination study conducted in Georgia, 89% of LGB (lesbian, gay, bisexual) people have experienced psychological violence, 87% have to deceive their father and/or brother, and 65% cannot express their true feelings to their mother. While 32% of the respondents have experienced physical violence at least once within the last 2 years, 73% of them do not seek help from the police.

The study interviewed 150 people from the LGB community. Even though the scope of the study does not give the opportunity to generalize the results to the country, this is currently the only study conducted on this issue in Georgia and provides sufficient information to shed the light on the type of experience LGB people face in Georgia. - homosexual
